UK Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance provides you with protection and peace of mind while you are abroad.
There are many different types of travel insurance. Some offer baggage cover but before you take out travel insurance check your Home Insurance policy as many policies cover you for baggage while you are on holiday.
Single Trip Travel Insurance – This insurance is designed for
people who are going on a specific holiday or a single trip. It covers any
destination at any time of the year, and you are covered from the start date
to the end date of your holiday. You will need to cover yourself or if you are a familiy, a group of people travelling together, or a single parent taking the kids on holiday then travell insurance can be talored to meet all requirements. You will also be asked the age of
each person travelling.
Your policy can also cover you for cancellation so if your holiday does happen to be
cancelled any time after you book your travel insurance you can rest assured
you will be covered.
Annual Travel Insurance - This type of insurance provides
cover for people who are taking more than one trip a year. It can work
out cheaper to have this sort of travel insurance as it covers you for a
whole year no matter how many trips you make during that year.
You shuold set the start date of your insurance to the
date of your first trip, this will insure that you have the maximum number
of days by which you can travel fully insured.
Your Insurance policy will probably come with a choice of individual trip
lengths, in other words you yourself could choose the length of days during
the year that your policy would run for from a number of choices already
stated by your insurance company. For example it could be possible for your
annual holiday insurance to cover a number of trips lasting for a maximum duration of between 21 to 60 days.
Over 65 Travel Insurance - There are many companies who
can offer you travel insurance if you are over 65, you can
choose from Single Trip Insurance or Multi Trip Insurance which would be otherwise known as Annual
Trip Insurance.
The sort of insurance you will be offered will cover things like personal
possessions, medical expenses, should you have a serious accident, medical
emergency, cancellation and curtailment should any holiday be cancelled,
it can cover you for liability should you be held personally liable for any thing whilst on
holiday. You may also be offered insurance to cover legal advice and
expenses should require any while travelling.
Winter Sports Travel Insurance - If you like to travel abroad to take part in winter sports you will need travel insurance to ensure your trip
runs smoothly no matter what. Winter sports are usually exciting and
energetic holidays, so you will be able to relax more knowing that even if
the unthinkable happens, should you have a serious accident or need medical attention then you have no financial worries, you will be covered.
You can open an insurance policy to ensure you are covered no matter what type of sport you enjoy, skiing,
snowboarding, mono skiing, ice skating even heli skiing. You should however be aware that because you are taking part in rather more risky spots you may have to pay a slightly higher premium for your insurance.
You can opt to go
for Single Trip or Multi Trip Insurance depending on whether you are
planning to holiday just the once or taking several breaks through the year.
Multi Trip Travel Insurance will cover you for a whole year no matter how
many trips you make in that year.
Travel Insurance will cover such things as cancellation
curtailment should the holiday be cancelled, departure abandonment, personal
possessions, ski slopes being shut down or closed, medical expenses,
personal liability and legal advice should you require it.
Golf Travel Insurance - A golfing holiday is great fun.
You are probably proud of those golf clubs but there could be tears if your
clubs or equipment are stolen or damaged while travelling. Not every travel
insurance policy will cover your golf equipment so if you are heading off to
the 19th hole it’s advisable to make sure you have the right cover for you
trip. Standard Baggage cover does not usually provide sufficient cover for a
decent set of golf clubs. There are policies that will actually arrange for a
replacement set of clubs for you so that your holiday need not be ruined.
Let’s face it even the best golfers have accidents, so give yourself piece of mind take out an insurance policy. You could have an off day and instead of slicing into the
rough you could injure someone or someone else’s property so you should make
sure you are insured against liability too.
If you pay the appropriate Golf premium you can also be covered for loss of
Green Fees that have been paid for prior to the commencement of you trip. If
a medical practitioner has certified you unfit and unable to play golf because of some injury incurred
whilst away on holiday, then insurance can ensure you are refunded for the unused portion of your
Green Fees. This Green Fee Insurance is only available if you have
confirmation that there is no refund available from the club itself for the fees.
